Celebrating a New Year is exciting, it brings a fresh start and new beginnings. And while the US has averted the Fiscal Cliff, the economy still takes its toll on the job market for the younger worker, Millennials specifically. In a recent Bloomberg News Report , it states, “the average incomes for individuals ages 25 to 34 have fallen 8 percent…[while] the unemployment rate remains at .5 to 1 %”. Not only do Millennials have fewer opportunities, but you are also earning less for formerly higher paid positions.
Millennials are also plagued by a damaging reputation for their differing attitudes towards and approaches to work. While some organizations are learning to adapt and successfully engage Millennials, others think you are more trouble than you are worth. Business Insider just published an article “6 Quotes that Prove Millennials are Simply Terrible Employees”, which is just another example of the myths, misconceptions, and discrimination your generation is facing.
There is hope! This year the Millennial Mentor is offering a series of webinars for you, the Millennial!
