This summer I’m excited to share my expertise in leadership with young Start-up Entrepreneurs and Innovators at the 2014 SXSW V2V in Las Vegas, Nevada. But to do it I need your help!
I need you to VOTE for my Session Idea today!
Together with my friend and colleague, Drew Bird from Clearpoint Leadership, we plan to to host a workshop:
Leading with Emotional and Cultural Intelligence
Emotional and cultural intelligence are pre-requisite competencies for organizational leaders. They are the underpinnings for other leadership knowledge and skills. Leaders with high emotional and cultural intelligence will be able to communicate with sensitivity and effectiveness, develop sustainable diversity outreach strategies, recruit diverse talent, manage staff and lead teams with increased effectiveness.
Outcomes:
• Understand the emotional and intercultural skills necessary to more effectively express our thoughts; develop and maintain relationships
• Develop awareness of the complexity of emotions and culture and their impact on values, beliefs and behaviours
• Learn to more accurately understand and interpret cultural attitudes and behaviours
• Empowered to be more effective and appropriate in intercultural situations and among diverse groups and to read and understand the behavior of others and the messages they send.
