Christopher Poynter…YOU INSPIRE ME! Chris lives his life with joy and exuberance, and loves fearlessly. He recognizes beauty all around him and shares it with others through his photography and music. He has a natural affinity for children so it was no surprise he chose a career in education. He just earned his teaching degree and launched his career as a Teacher on Call with British Columbia School District #62, and continues his work as a Childcare Worker at Cloverdale Traditional School, all on top of his work as a Professional DJ, and Amateur Photographer. Chris has a close and loving family, a beautiful fiance, and circle of friends that I admire and consistently draw inspiration from. But this year, he topped himself as he set out to tackle what was already proving to be a challenging time transitioning from student to professional; Chris was diagnosed with cancer in May. He immediately reached out to friends and family for support and inspiration. And in turn he has inspired and motivated all of us to face all obstacles in life with joy and optimism, to see the beauty in all things, to be honest about your feelings, build a strong network of friends and family, and to take life by the horns because we are not promised a tomorrow. As if the cancer stood a chance against him, I’m happy to say that today Chris is officially cancer free. Read his story here!
When I asked him to share his insight, this is what Chris had to share:
“If I was to give some advice, I would say that you should eat healthily, get lots of exercise outdoors, surround yourself with positive people, and constantly remind yourself about all the amazing things in your life. If something is boring, why are you doing it? If you are unhappy, what could you change? Open your heart, mind, and soul to all things wonderful, and SMILE!” Christopher Poynter
